Third Eyesight Knowledge Series © - Textile Facts & Fabric Sourcing

Third Eyesight, a Delhi based consulting firm, presented the first in its series of industry focused workshops and seminars branded as the Third Eyesight Knowledge Series© on Textile Facts & Fabric Sourcing on the 4th and 5th of July at the PHD House, Delhi.

The Textile workshop focused on imparting and sharing with the participants working knowledge of fabrics commonly used by the apparel industry; identify the sources of these fabrics in the domestic and international source markets; understand costing of textiles based on the value add and finishing processes carried out on them; and familiarized participants with the various end uses of these textiles.

The workshop had a compact but diverse mix of industry participants, including professionals from national brands, retail businesses, and those engaged in design. The delegates found the content of the workshop and the way the concepts were presented very current, applied and relevant to their requirements. It gave them a better understanding of the basic and primary raw material resource of the business in their own company. The delegates found the one-on-one interaction during the workshop very beneficial as they realized that a number of the problems faced by them were common across the industry and were able to share opinions and suggested solutions.

The faculty for the programme was Ms. Sharmila Katre, who is a consultant at Third Eyesight and has been in the Clothing and Textile industry for the past 28 years, and has taught the subject at NIFT, Pearl Academy and the Institute of Home Economics in Delhi as a visiting faculty and industry professional.
